Xara Catering, part of the renowned Xara Collection, is seeking a skilled Pastry Chef de Partie to join our team. This role focuses on producing exceptional desserts, pastries, and sweet elements for high-end functions, weddings, luxury events, and outside catering operations.
As Pastry Chef de Partie , you will oversee a designated pastry section, ensuring that every item—whether served onsite or prepared for outside catering—meets the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation associated with the Xara brand.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and carry out daily production within the pastry section, including preparation for banqueting and off-site catering.
- Produce high-quality desserts, pastries, petit fours, showpieces, and baked items according to event specifications and menu standards.
- Ensure all pastry items are efficiently packed, transported, and presented for outside catering events.
- Maintain exceptional standards of food quality, consistency, and visual presentation.
- Collaborate with the Group Pastry Chef, Head Chef, and Executive Chef.
- Maintain excellent stock control, portioning, labelling, and rotation in line with HACCP and food safety regulations.
- Work efficiently during high-volume service periods, ensuring deadlines and event schedules are met.
- Support the wider kitchen team during event setup, service, and breakdown when needed.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie in a pastry kitchen, preferably within catering, banqueting, or large-scale event environments.
- Formal culinary or pastry qualification, or equivalent professional training.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and tight deadlines.
- Ability to remain calm, focused, and efficient under pressure.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and leadership abilities.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, public holidays, and off-site catering events.
- A strong passion for pastry craftsmanship, creativity, and continuous improvement.
