Job Overview:
IHG Hotels & Resorts are looking to recruit an experienced and passionate Chef de Rang to ensure a seamless and exceptional dining experience for our guests. The Chef de Rang will be responsible for managing a specific section of the restaurant, coordinating service with the kitchen, and ensuring that guests receive attentive and professional service. You will also oversee opening and closing duties, maintain high service standards, and contribute to the overall success of the Food & Beverage department.
Responsibilities:
- Perform opening duties such as setting tables, polishing glasses, folding napkins, and ensuring mise en place is prepared for service.
- Attend pre-shift and general meetings to update knowledge of daily specials, stock-related issues, and service procedures.
- Welcome guests, present menus, and provide detailed information about dishes, making recommendations as needed.
- Take and input accurate food and beverage orders, coordinating with the kitchen and bar to ensure timely service.
- Ensure food and beverages are served correctly and promptly, adhering to the highest service standards.
- Supervise and guide commis waiters and junior staff within the section.
- Engage with guests to ensure satisfaction, handle any requests or complaints professionally, and escalate issues when necessary.
- Prepare and issue bills, process payments, and thank guests upon departure.
- Perform closing duties, including clearing tables, resetting the section for the next shift, and assisting in general restaurant cleanliness.
