Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct, monitor, and appraise Housekeeping Team Members to ensure prompt and courteous guest service, adherence to guest profiles, and maintain staff discipline and efficiency
- Coordinate with other departments, particularly Front Office, Engineering, and Laundry, on housekeeping matters and room status
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and restaurants to ensure cleanliness, proper condition of furnishings, and controlled consumption of guest supplies
- Maintain open communication channels within the department and with superiors, scheduling routine cleaning programs as needed
- Oversee and implement housekeeping procedures, including lost and found, key control, security measures, and emergency protocols
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation, policies, and procedures for both employees and guests
- Familiarise yourself with property safety, first aid, fire, and emergency procedures, and properly log security incidents and accidents
Qualifications
Candidate Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in Hotel Management or related discipline with at least 5 years' experience in housekeeping, including 3 years in a managerial capacity
- Thorough knowledge of modern housekeeping techniques, cleaning technology, hygiene & safety standards
- Excellent communication, team work, and customer service skills
- Strong people management skills and ability to work cohesively with colleagues
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Experience in an Island environment is advantageous
