Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and manage the hotel's wine stock, ensuring quality standards align with Constance Hotels corporate identity.
- Maintain an international standard wine list, offering a variety of styles and prices in line with world trends.
- Produce wine orders and monthly sales analyses in collaboration with Outlet Sommelier.
- Manage wine service across different outlets, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of wines, cocktails, beers, and spirits.
- Guide guests in wine selection, advising on food pairings and other accompaniments such as aperitifs, cocktails, cigars, and digestives.
- Assist the Head Sommelier in compiling and updating the wine list.
Qualifications
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as Commis Sommelier or Assistant Sommelier in a 5 star luxury hotel
- WSET or equivalent degree (level 1 or above) from a recognised Sommelier programme
- Strong, up-to-date product knowledge of wines and excellent service skills focused on guest satisfaction
- Effective communication skills, pleasant personality, and superior interactive abilities
- Thorough understanding of health, safety, and hygiene procedures
