Job Description
Constance Ephelia, a luxurious resort in the Seychelles, is seeking a highly organised and efficient Laundry Manager to oversee our on-site laundry operations. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene for our guests and staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage daily laundry operations, ensuring efficient workflow and timely delivery of clean linens, towels, and uniforms
- Supervise, train, and motivate laundry staff to maintain peak performance and productivity
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure all items meet the resort's high standards
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and monitoring stock levels
- Maintain and troubleshoot laundry equipment, scheduling repairs and maintenance as needed
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, focusing on cost control and efficiency
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper handling of chemicals and waste management
- Collaborate with other departments to meet the resort's laundry needs and address any concerns
- Implement environmentally sustainable practices in laundry operations
- Prepare reports on laundry operations, productivity, and costs for senior management
Qualifications
Candidate Requirements :
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in laundry operations, preferably in a hotel or resort setting
- Proven track record in staff supervision and training
- Extensive knowledge of laundry equipment operation and maintenance
- Strong understanding of textile care, fabric handling, and quality control procedures
- Proficiency in inventory management and budgeting
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong leadership and communication abilities
- Computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office and laundry management software
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or related field (preferred)
- Relevant laundry or textile care certifications (preferred)
- Experience in implementing environmentally sustainable practices in laundry operations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Customer service-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards
