Job Description
Constance Moofushi, a luxurious resort in the Maldives, is seeking a visionary and innovative Executive Chef to lead our culinary operations. As the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our food service, ensuring exceptional dining experiences for our discerning guests.
- Develop and implement innovative menus that showcase international cuisines, with a focus on Maldivian and Asian flavours
- Lead and inspire a team of culinary professionals, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence
- Manage food costs, budgets, and inventory to maintain profitability whilst ensuring the highest quality standards
- Collaborate with the management team to enhance overall guest satisfaction and contribute to the resort's success
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations
- Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of kitchen facilities and equipment
- Participate in guest interactions, including cooking demonstrations and special events
- Source and maintain relationships with local suppliers, promoting sustainable and ethical practices
- Continuously research and incorporate culinary trends to keep our offerings fresh and exciting
Qualifications
- Culinary degree or diploma from a recognised institution
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in high-end restaurants or luxury resorts, with previous experience as an Executive Chef or Sous Chef
- Proven track record in menu development, food cost control, and kitchen management
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse culinary team
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in international cuisines, particularly Maldivian and Asian
- In-depth knowledge of dietary restrictions, food allergies, and special dietary requirements
- Experience with inventory management and budgeting in a large-scale operation
- Current food safety certification
- Understanding of sustainable sourcing practices and commitment to environmental responsibility
- Ability to work effectively in a remote island setting and adapt to the unique challenges of resort operations
- Innovative approach to culinary arts with a passion for creating memorable dining experiences
