Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanic to join our team in Constant Halaveli, Maldives. As a Senior Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles, ensuring they operate at peak performance in our tropical climate.
- Do the major and minor repairs on a variety of gasoline and diesel powered equipment.
- Repair and overhauling of speed boat engine, jet ski and related Equipment
- Organize and maintain a clean service area and maintenance of building.
- Inspect, adjust, diagnose, and repair mechanical defects in many types of maintenance equipment.
- Do machine and welding, hydraulic system, high pressure pumps and valves.
- Report all disciplinary grievances to the Mechanic team leader.
- Perform complex diagnostic procedures to identify and resolve vehicle issues
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and labour hours
- Mentor and guide junior mechanics, sharing knowledge and best practices
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards
- Adapt repair and maintenance techniques to address unique challenges posed by the tropical climate
- Communicate effectively with customers, explaining technical issues and repair recommendations
- Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques
Qualifications
- Vocational training or technical degree in Automotive Technology
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience as an automotive mechanic
- ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certifications preferred
- Advanced knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance across various vehicle makes and models
- Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and software
- Expertise in electrical systems and engine management
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- In-depth understanding of automotive systems and technologies
- Knowledge of safety regulations and environmental standards
- Ability to work efficiently and maintain an organised workspace
- Familiarity with the effects of tropical climate on vehicles and appropriate maintenance techniques
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects
- Valid driving licence
