Job Description
We are seeking a friendly and customer-focused Guest Service Assistant with Chinese language skills to join our team in , Maldives. As a vital member of our guest relations team, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional service to our Chinese-speaking guests, enhancing their overall experience at our resort.
- Welcome and assist Chinese-speaking guests upon arrival, providing a warm and professional first impression
- Offer information about resort facilities, services, and local attractions in both Chinese and English
- Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and efficiently
- Coordinate with various departments to fulfil guest needs and resolve issues
- Assist with check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring a smooth process for guests
- Provide translation and interpretation services when needed
- Maintain accurate guest records and update information in the hotel management system
- Promote and upsell resort services and amenities to enhance guest experience
- Ensure compliance with resort policies and procedures while maintaining high standards of customer service
- Assist in organising and conducting cultural activities or tours for Chinese-speaking guests
Qualifications
- Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin) and English, both written and spoken
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong customer service orientation with a friendly and empathetic demeanour
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
- Cultural sensitivity and awareness of Chinese customs and expectations
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and hotel management systems
- Previous experience in hospitality or customer service roles (preferred)
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Degree in Hospitality, Tourism, or related field (preferred)
- Knowledge of Maldivian culture and tourism industry (preferred)
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to adapt to the unique working environment of a remote island resort
