Chalet Chef Job Description

Excellent food is at the heart of an AliKats holiday, with interesting and varied menus crafted from scratch using local, seasonal ingredients.
We're seeking a skilled chef to join our team for Winter 2526 at our flagship chalet La Ferme à Jules who shares our passion for exceptional cuisine and mountain lifestyle.
Culinary & Operational Responsibilities
- Execute our signature 5-day rotating menu with precision for 20-26 guests, including breakfast, afternoon tea, canapés, and multi-course dinners
- Apply classical techniques while incorporating Alpine cuisine elements and adapting for dietary requirements
- Demonstrate excellence in sauce work, pastry fundamentals, and sophisticated plating
- Manage kitchen operations including food ordering, inventory control, and budget adherence
- Implement and maintain proper food storage and HACCP protocols
- Maintain impeccable hygiene standards and sustainable kitchen practices to reduce waste
- Collaborate with chalet staff to ensure seamless service and exceptional guest experiences
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum 2 years' experience as chalet chef, private chef, chef de partie, sous chef, or head chef in fine dining or luxury hospitality
- Proficiency in French culinary techniques, modern plating, and adapting for high-altitude cooking
- Strong knowledge of food safety, allergen management, and kitchen sanitation practices
- Experience planning multi-course menus and accommodating varied dietary needs
- Excellent knife skills, pastry fundamentals, and ability to work efficiently under time constraints
- Positive attitude with exceptional time management and independent work ethic
- Minimum age of 21 with a full manual European driving license (Mandatory)
- Passion for skiing/snowboarding or mountain lifestyle
