Job Description
Constance Ephelia, a luxurious resort in the Seychelles, is seeking a talented and passionate Demi Chef De Partie specialising in pastry to join our culinary team. In this role, you will contribute to creating exquisite desserts and pastries that delight our guests and uphold our reputation for culinary excellence.
- Prepare a wide range of high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods for the resort's restaurants and events
- Assist the Pastry Chef in menu planning and development of new dessert concepts
- Ensure consistent quality and presentation of all pastry items
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards
- Manage inventory and stock rotation of pastry ingredients
- Train and supervise junior pastry staff
- Collaborate with other kitchen teams to ensure smooth service operations
- Contribute creative ideas for special events and themed desserts
- Adapt recipes to accommodate dietary requirements and allergies when necessary
Qualifications
Candidate Requirements :
- Culinary degree or diploma with a specialisation in pastry
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort setting
- Proven expertise in a wide range of pastry techniques and dessert preparation
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices, with relevant certification
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Creativity and passion for developing innovative dessert concepts
- Knowledge of international pastry trends and techniques
- Flexibility to work in various shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Willingness to work in a tropical resort environment
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of additional languages is advantageous
