As an outdoor activity instructor, you will play a pivotal role in creating memorable and life-changing experiences for our diverse range of participants. Whether it's guiding a group of energetic youngsters through a thrilling rock climbing session or leading a team of adults on a raft building team challenge, your expertise will leave a lasting impression on all those you encounter.

Our instructors work hard at the very front of customer service. But the work can be very rewarding knowing that all you do contributes to creating new skills, confidence and life enhancing experiences for both adventurers and yourself.

Limited accommodation is available on site; rent covers all costs other than food. Staff provide their own bedding. Accommodation may be mixed sex and you must be over 18. All buildings including staff accommodation are non smoking. Pets are not permitted. This role has an anticipated end date of 27th September 2024. Shorter contracts will be considered for qualified instructors.

Responsibilities

Lead and instruct various outdoor activities in climbing, water sports and target shooting zones.
Ensure the safety of participants at all times, following industry-standard protocols and procedures.
Foster a supportive and inclusive environment, encouraging participants to step out of their comfort zones and embrace new challenges.
Provide clear and engaging instruction, adapting your approach to suit the needs and abilities of different groups.
Inspire and motivate participants to develop their skills, build confidence, and foster a love for outdoor activities.

n addition to activity responsibilities as members of the Stubbers team you will be required to help other departments. This will include serving meals to residential groups, assisting with camp change overs, site wide maintenance tasks and general housekeeping.

Requirements

A passion for the outdoors and a genuine desire to share that passion with others.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse groups of participants.
Relevant certifications and qualifications in outdoor activities are desirable but full training is provided for suitable candidates. Staff starting in May 2024 will receive a PB2, first aid, PSRC, in house training and safeguarding.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive and professional work environment.
Experience working with children in a club or sport environment is an advantage.

All staff are required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service check, which if not already held, can be arranged through Stubbers Adventure Centre
