Job Description
Constance Moofushi, our luxurious island resort in the Maldives, is seeking a professional and enthusiastic Barman to join our dynamic hospitality team. In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our discerning guests across our restaurants, bars, and food service venues. As a Barman, you will combine meticulous attention to detail with genuine warmth to create memorable moments for every guest who walks through our doors.
- Greet and welcome guests with genuine warmth and professionalism, seating them promptly and courteously • Take food and beverage orders with accuracy and efficiency, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of our menus • Serve meals and beverages with exceptional presentation and attention to detail, ensuring guest satisfaction • Maintain impeccable cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout all dining areas and service spaces
- Assist in setting up and breaking down dining spaces for various events and service periods • Process payments accurately, handling cash and card transactions with transparency and care • Respond promptly and empathetically to guest inquiries, special requests, and dietary requirements • Collaborate effectively with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely and accurate food and beverage delivery
- Adhere strictly to all food safety, sanitation, and health and safety procedures • Contribute positively to team dynamics, supporting colleagues and fostering an inclusive work environment • Maintain professional appearance and grooming standards at all times • Demonstrate resilience and composure whilst working efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
*Required:*
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and supportive demeanour • Strong communication abilities in English, both verbal and written • Proficiency in food and beverage service techniques and protocols • Basic mathematics skills for handling financial transactions accurately • Keen attention to detail and organisational abilities • Ability to work efficiently and remain composed in a fast-paced environment
- Team player mentality with a positive and collaborative attitude • Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods • Willingness to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays • Adaptability to working in a remote island resort setting *Desirable:* • Previous experience in food and beverage service, preferably within luxury hospitality
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification • Food safety certification or equivalent training • Knowledge of international cuisines and beverages • Understanding of dietary requirements and common food allergies • Proficiency in additional languages beyond English • Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems and hospitality software • Familiarity with fine dining service standards and etiquette
