We are looking to recruit Chalet Hosts (applications from singles, couples and 2 friends accepted) for our catered chalets in Morzine.
It is ESSENTIAL that you have previous professional cooking experience,
whether it is professional experience in a restaurant or hotel kitchen
or having been a Chalet Host previously (where cooking rather than
assisting a chef was required). The role requires someone who gets on
well with people from all walks of life, can cook to a high standard, is
well organised, takes pride in doing the job properly with great
attention to detail, has a lot of energy and can work as part of a team.
You will be required to independently provide breakfast with a daily
cooked option, a cake for afternoon tea, hot and cold canapes and a
3-course evening meal, as well as cleaning the chalet daily and changing
over the chalet on the day of departure/arrival of the guests. In
addition, there will be some weeks when we have guests staying for a
short break and the chalet needs to be changed over mid-week.
Standard daily tasks
Morning:
- Laying out continental breakfast & cook a daily hot option
- Make beds, clean bathrooms & empty bins
- Tidy, vacuum communal living areas & wash floors
- Prepare & lay out afternoon tea
- Prep for evening meal (considering kids meals/dietary options)
Evening:
- Clear away afternoon tea
- Serve children’s meals if required
- Prepare & canapes, three course dinner, cheese & coffee
- Wash and tidy up, clean kitchen
- Lay table for breakfast
- Standard weekly tasks
- Put laundry out for collection, put away clean laundry
- Stock take and complete online food order, weekly supermarket shop
- Complete meat order; store once delivered
- Mid-week towel change for all rooms
- Complete chalet report, collect guest satisfaction forms
- Change-over all bedrooms & clean communal areas (every Sunday with some mid-week change-overs)
- Juggling change-over if you have an overlap of arriving & departing guests
- Manage guest requests, questions, problems
- Additional preparation for staff day off
Hours/ Package
- Competitive monthly salary paid through the French system (in euros)

- There are 2 days off a week and 2.5 holiday days per month that will be paid at the end of the season

season, typically night sledging, cross country skiing and or a meal in a
mountain restaurant, an important way to say thanks and to come
together as a team and just have fun!
- We also have high standard, well located accommodation that is
available for rent though our sister company at a lower rate than the
market average.
What kind of person are we looking for?
We are looking for individuals who have either done a ski season
cooking in a chalet before &/or have experience working in a professional kitchen and who have a genuine love and interest
in food & flair for cooking & excellent attention to detail.
You need to be:
