Job Description
A Demi Chef de Partie is a junior chef position in a professional kitchen, working under the Chef de Partie (station chef) to manage a specific section of the kitchen efficiently and maintain food quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Chef de Partie in daily kitchen operations.
- Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to recipes and standards.
- Ensure mise en place is completed before service.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the assigned section.
- Monitor stock levels and inform senior chefs about shortages.
- Follow food safety and HACCP procedures.
- Help train and guide commis chefs or kitchen assistants.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients.
- Support smooth kitchen service during busy periods.
Qualifications
- Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts is preferred.
- 1–3 years of kitchen experience in hotels, resorts, or restaurants.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Understanding of hygiene and safety regulations.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Teamwork and communication skills.
- Creativity and attention to detail.
