Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
- Oversee daily housekeeping operations for guest rooms, suites, villas, public areas, staff areas, laundry, linen, and uniform rooms.
- Ensure all areas consistently meet Constance Hotels & Resorts luxury standards and brand guidelines.
- Implement, monitor, and continuously improve housekeeping SOPs, checklists, and quality assurance processes.
- Conduct regular inspections, audits, and spot checks to maintain impeccable standards.
- Coordinate room cleaning priorities, turn-down services, and special setups in line with resort occupancy and guest profiles.
Leadership and People Management
- Lead, inspire, and develop a large housekeeping team in a resort environment.
- Plan duty rosters, manage attendance, leave planning, and workforce optimisation.
- Identify training needs and ensure ongoing development in service excellence, hygiene, and brand standards.
- Conduct performance appraisals, coaching sessions, and support disciplinary processes in line with HR policies.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and pride aligned with Constance values.
Guest Experience and Service Culture
- Ensure prompt, discreet, and professional handling of guest requests, preferences, and complaints.
- Coordinate closely with Front Office and Guest Relations to manage VIPs, repeat guests, and special occasions.
- Ensure personalised service touches are consistently delivered.
Financial and Administrative Management
- Prepare and manage the housekeeping department budget, ensuring effective cost control without compromising quality.
- Monitor consumption of cleaning products and guest amenities.
- Manage inventory levels, purchasing requests, and supplier coordination in line with Constance procurement procedures.
- Analyse productivity, occupancy, and labour reports to drive efficiency improvements.
Health, Safety, Hygiene and Sustainability
- Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
- Enforce correct use of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and PPE.
- Support and actively promote sustainability and environmental initiatives, including waste reduction and eco-friendly practices.
Interdepartmental Collaboration
- Work closely with Engineering for preventive maintenance, room defects, and refurbishment follow-up.
- Coordinate with Laundry, Security, Front Office, F&B, and HR to ensure seamless resort operations.
- Participate actively in daily operations meetings and management briefings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in housekeeping management within luxury hotels or resorts
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a large team
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards
- Proficiency in hotel management software and budget management
- Outstanding communication skills in English; knowledge of French or other languages is advantageous
- In-depth knowledge of luxury hotel operations and housekeeping best practices
- Experience in implementing sustainable and eco-friendly housekeeping practices
- Professional certifications in housekeeping or hotel management (desirable)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure
