We are looking for a responsible and passionate EVENT AND CATERING MANAGER to join us in California, USA.
We are looking for a successful and enthusiastic Event & Catering Manager to oversee the planning and execution of events for a restaurant group in California. The candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the Events & Catering industry, speak English fluently and have high organizational and leadership skills.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
-Plan and design events and caterings within time limits.
-Respond via email and phone to all events and catering inquiries within a 48 hour window.
-Liaise with clients to identify their needs and to ensure customer satisfaction. Always try to adapt as much as possible to their requests.
-Negotiate contracts prior to closing any deals.
-Update event & catering menus when needed (together with the Chef).
-Create BEO's and make sure communication is fluid with the restaurant manager and chef of that location so no surprises arise before the event.
-Organize and manage all event's details such as decor, furniture, portable bar, equipment, promotional material, number of employees needed, etc.
-Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health and safety obligations.
-Specify staff requirements and coordinate their duties.
-Prepare budgets and ensure adherence.
-Proactively handle any arising issues and solve emerging problems on the event day.
-Provide feedback and periodic reports to Director of Operations.
-Propose ideas to improve provided services and event quality.
-Cooperate with marketing and PR to promote and publicize events & caterings.
-Conduct market, research identify event opportunities and generate interest.
-Connect with other event planners and bay area companies to promote our events and caterings.
