Job Description
Constance Ephelia, a luxurious resort in the Seychelles, is seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our fine dining restaurant team. You will play a crucial role in maintaining our high standards of culinary excellence and guest satisfaction.
- Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and menu planning
- Ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene are consistently met
- Develop and implement new menu items, keeping abreast of current culinary trends
- Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment
- Manage inventory, control food costs, and maintain proper stock levels
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction
- Uphold and enforce all food safety and sanitation regulations
- Step in for the Head Chef when necessary, assuming full kitchen leadership
Qualifications
- Culinary degree or diploma from a recognised institution
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in fine dining establishments, with previous experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar leadership role
- Advanced knowledge of culinary techniques, menu planning, and kitchen management
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in food safety and hygiene standards, with relevant certification
- Creative flair and passion for innovative cuisine
- In-depth knowledge of international cuisines and fine dining trends
- Experience with inventory control and cost management
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing situations
- Willingness to relocate to the Seychelles
