We are looking to take on a Chalet Manager for winter 2025-26 who will primarily focus on supporting our Chalet Hosts and maintaining the Reach4thealps high standards in service across our catered chalets in Morzine.
As a result, the position is very diverse encompassing guest relations, staff management, driving guests when required for slope runs, monitoring standards of cleanliness and delivery of our set menu in both quality and presentation of our food.
With the focus being on the catered service it is essential that the candidate has been a Chalet Host before. They need to be an experienced and capable cook to help set our menu, train the hosts on delivering the menu and to be able to stand in for a chalet host in the event of illness or injury.
Main responsibilities
Monitoring Standards
- Weekly inspections of the kitchens and store rooms.
- Checking staff are complying with good food hygiene practise. Food is properly stored and rotated.
- Frequent check of the general cleanliness of the chalets
- Ensure the “hotel” cleans of the bathrooms are done correctly
- Being present at breakfast and dinner service to ensure that the chalet hosts are delivering the menu to the standard we set during training week
- Monitor wine supplies and check that staff are offering guests the proper selection of wine
Guests relations
- Visiting the chalets and spending time with the guests
- Dealing with guest’s complaints if they arise in a non-confrontational manner with the aim being that issues are quickly resolved so guests can enjoy the rest of their holiday.
- Keeping staff guests well informed of all events and updated on any relevant information, carrying out any requests (such as booking activities, booking restaurants etc)
- Be aware of any special guest requirements, extra beds, cots, high chairs, dietary requirements etc to ensure that chalet staff know about these.
- Have good in resort knowledge of restaurants, ski area, ski hire, ski passes, snow shoe routes etc
Shopping
- Be familiar with the ingredient list that follows the menu and the various suppliers
- Support the staff in their stock taking and shopping planning/ordering
- Ensure staff stick to the menu and shopping list so we keep within budget
Changeover Day
- Check the guests manifest so you are aware of early arrivals/late departures so you can give help to chalets if required and help with in resort slope runs, taking guests to ski hire etc on arrival day.
- Make sure there is always someone to welcome guests into a chalet.
- Ensure that the changeover cleans are done to the high standard required and staff work efficiently , help the chalet hosts manage departing and arriving guests.
Staff Management
- Be a support to the chalet staff and give a helping hand
- Support our drivers and hosts and ensure they carry out their roles according to Reach4thealps standards as thoroughly and efficiently as possible, leading by example.

Stand in cooking or cleaning in the event of illness, injury or on a temporary basis in the event when we have to lose a staff member
- Deal with grievance and disciplinary/staff policies in line with company standards
Maintenance
- Spot any issues and communicate with our maintenance person. Meet plumber/ electrician tradesmen on site if required.
- The Chalet Manager role is a key link between office and chalet staff.

There are 2 days off a week and 2.5 holiday/sick days per month that will be paid at the end of the season

Reach4thealps will also organise and pay for team events in the
season, typically night sledging, cross country skiing and or a meal in a mountain restaurant, an important way to say thanks and to come together as a team and just have fun!
Training
Successful applicants will be offered a place on our winter training course commencing in early December. Reach4thealps will pay for the costs of the training provided by trained chefs & our management team.
