We are currently recruiting for a Chef to join our Pastoral Team.
The Team Evolution programme operates from the Team Evolution academy in Austria, and is designed for British student-athletes who are balancing their athletic training with their academic requirements. The winter programme runs from mid November - mid April, and the academy training base in Radstadt, Austria provides a "home away from home" where the student athletes and staff live for the season.
In a training environment focused on hard work and commitment, healthy eating and an understanding of nutrition is vitally important. The staffing team is made up of knowledgable and committed pastoral staff, tutors, coaches who are passionate about their roles in developing the athletes and the programme, and a chef is a crucial part of the pastoral team.
The day to day schedule of the athletes is changeable, and as part of an athletic programme that is fluid and changeable, the pastoral staff need to be flexible and happy to adapt plans at short notice. The in house catering ranges from between 5 and 35 people on a daily basis, depending on the training schedules of each week.
Main Objectives:
- To design a fortnightly menu which will be rotated through the winter season, and which provides all the necessary food options for student-athletes
- To provide 12 cooked meals per week, usually consisting of 6 lunches and 6 dinners, to athletes and staff
- To assist in preparing or cooking breakfasts for 5 days a week
- To assist the pastoral team with the preparing, laying out and cleaning away of meals
- To assist with a shop, twice-weekly, for any ingredients needed for the preparation of meals
- To ensure the kitchen, cooking area and eating space are kept clean and tidy
- To provide support and education to student-athletes to allow them to make good nutritional choices, including teaching them how to prepare certain meals and snacks and how to correctly clean up a cooking area.
- All members of Team Evolution staff will be required to assist with driving, including airport pick-ups, during the season. Applicants should have a full, clean driving license
Remuneration:
- Wages of between £7000 - £8,000 are offered, based on qualifications and experience, for 5 months work from mid-November to mid-April. Christmas week is off, along with around 2 other weeks during the season.
- Staff expenses are covered for the duration of the season, from mid-November until mid-April. This includes;
- Half Board shared accommodation, eating at the Team Evolution Academy
- Driven transport out to base in mid-November, and returning at the end of the season in mid-April

Qualification/Requirements:
- Experience cooking for large groups of people
- Nutritional knowledge for athletes
- Appropriate Hygiene Certifications
- Post carries a requirement to under-go enhanced DBS check
- Valid First Aid training
- A completed Child Welfare / Safeguarding Course
- Clean driving license
- Good communication skills, a strong team work ethic, and good inter-personal skills are essential
