About Us
Based in Radstadt, Austria, Team Evolution run a residential academy programme designed for athletes looking to work within a professional structure dedicated to their development, both on and off the slopes. We provide professional snow sports coaching and educational support for student-athletes looking to achieve both success on the slopes and in the classroom during their time in Austria.
Team Evolution has continuously been the programme of choice for developing some of Britain’s best winter sports athletes, for almost two decades. Throughout this time, athletes on the programme have gone on to achieve countless National titles, competed at the Olympic Games, on the World Cup, at the World Championships, World Junior Championships and at the Youth Olympic Games. Our trainees have continually achieved great success across the globe, and we are proud of our heritage.
Job Role
The Team Evolution training base in Austria houses British athletes, aged between 12 – 21, from mid-November to mid-April. Winter sports is renown as one of the most physically demanding activities, and in a training environment built on hard work and commitment, having nutritionally complete meals which fuel the body for performance is vitally important.
The Team Evolution In-House Cook will need to cater for between 5 and 35 athletes and staff on a daily basis. The applicant needs to be calm, flexible, and must be able to adjust to an ever-changing training and competition schedule. The Cook is not only responsible for producing nutritionally complete meals, but also working with the Pastoral Lead to plan a fortnightly menu, help shop for produce, adhere to a food budget, oversee stock and ensure the kitchen and food stores align with food hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities
- To provide nutritionally complete lunches and dinners, six days per week, for athlete’s and staff. Days of working will vary.
- To provide a breakfast option that fuels the athlete’s for training, up to five days per week.
- To help design a fortnightly menu, which is rotated throughout the season.
- To assist with the shopping for groceries and household goods twice per week, taking responsibility for the ingredients that are required for the preparation of meals.
- To educate the athletes on nutrition and support them in making good nutritional choices, including teaching them how to prepare certain meals and snacks for training.
- To ensure the kitchen, fridges, cooking area and eating spaces are kept clean, tidy and adhere to health and safety standards.
- To assist the house parents with preparing, laying out and cleaning away of breakfast and lunch meals.
- To organise and supervise a rota of athletes who assist with clean up during the week.
- All members of Team Evolution staff will be required to assist with driving, including airport pick-ups, during the season. Applicants should have a full, clean driving license.
Remuneration:
- Wages range between £1,400 - £1,600 per month, dependent on previous experience and qualifications.
- Five month contract, beginning mid-November 2026, ending mid-April 2027.
- Shared full board accommodation, throughout the dates stipulated within the contract.
- Transport to Austria at the beginning and end of the season in Team Evolution vehicles.
- A season lift ticket for the “Ski Amade” region.
Qualification & Requirements:
- Experience cooking for large groups of people.
- Good understanding of sport and nutrition.
- Appropriate food hygiene certifications.
- Enhanced DBS check.
- Valid First Aid training.
- A completed Child Welfare and Safeguarding Course.
- Clean driving license.
- Good communication skills, a strong team work ethic, and good inter-personal skills are essential.
