Spend the winter in the Austrian Alps tutoring Britain's budding skiing professionals!
A vibrant and exciting role in the heart of the Pinzgau region in the Austrian Alps with Ambition Racing; a competitive alpine ski racing academy. We deliver sporting & academic combined programs to young & talented skiers from our team base, Haus Tirol. Athletes as young as 9-years old join Ambition throughout a variety of camps and training blocks during the winter months, in order to progress their skiing skills, improve in their studies & learn about teamwork, leadership & friendship along the way.
This position combines 2 main roles within the Ambition Team; the delivery of the Academic Program alongside pastoral care & athlete well being. It is the responsibility of Ambition Racing to coach, educate and care for the general well being our our skiers, around the clock.

An outline of duties can include (but are not limited to) the following;
EDUCATION:
• Implementing work planners for each athlete as per guidance from Academic Liaison (or as Academic Liaison).
• Liaising with athlete parents & schools on educational needs.
• Liaising with Ambition parents, athletes and staff to deliver the academic programme.
• Communication with the Program Director and Head Coaches around any disciplinary issues.
• Organize school snacks with Haus Tirol chef where required.
• Transporting athletes to & from school where required.
• Ensuring athletes are well organized for each school day.
• Potential private study program / 1:1 or group tutoring for any athletes requiring extra support /
study outside of the normal academic program.
PASTORAL / CWO:
• Preparation of breakfasts / liaising with group coaches on daily schedule.
• Ensuring athletes unpack training bags / re-pack for the next day.
• Daily athlete room rounds & upkeep (outlined separately below).
• Injury management, including doctor, dentist, hospital visits.
• Enforcing training base guidelines including bedtimes, waking athletes up and educating athletes in
how to be self-sufficient with organizing training kit.
• Being present during ‘down time’ after meals and free time for athletes.
• Organise and implement day off / down time activities (inc. challenges, team building ideas).
• Prizes or incentives for general conduct and well behaviour.
• Communication with parents regarding disciplinary, medical, social or psychological issues.
• Upkeep of an injury / incident book.
• Organisation and review of all medical forms & permission to travel forms prior to each camp.
• Safe keeping of medicines & passports upon athlete arrival
• Organization & upkeep of team medical boxes.
• Laundry plan (we offer a laundry service that should be for essential items only).
• Race day organization of lunches / finish area support & post race activities.
• Accompanying of younger athletes to and from school where required dependent upon age.
• Liaise with Snowsport England welfare lead on best practices for safeguarding, risk assessments
and more.
Remuneration:
- We offer a salary of £1350 / month (gross)
- Travel to and from Austrian base @ start & end of season.
- Lodging during camps at Haus Tirol in shared staff accommodation.
- Meals at the Ambition base during active camps are included.
- Friends / family visits discounted at 15% off from real-time room rates.
Employment Begins: 19th November 2026
Employment Ends: 19th April 2027
Working Period: 5 month seasonal contract
Working Hours: Standard teaching of 3.5-4 hours of per day, 5 days per week. Academic program prep & administrative duties of approximately 1 hour per day (average). Shared houseparenting / pastoral duties under the guidance of the Pastoral / Academic lead (Ella Dixon).
Holiday: Accrued at 2.33 days per month of active service.
REQUIREMENTS
PGCE or similar qualification is preferable but tutoring experience / placements taken into consideration.
- Must have a full UK driver’s license.
- Must have full and valid DBS by start date.
- Must have full first aid certificate.
- Will need to apply for a VISA D with Austrian Embassy (London)
