The Courchevel Olympic Hotel (2**) is looking for a management couple for the winter season 25/26, with the possibility of annual employment afterwards.

This 28-room hotel in the centre of Courchevel 1850 has a small restaurant and a bar that is popular with seasonal workers. The hotel is full nearly all season. It opens in November, closes in April and the season is intense. The small team of six full-timers and two part-timers includes the management couple. Everyone has their principal duty, but is expected to help other departments when needed. No one escapes having to clean rooms, clean dishes, serve breakfast or look-after the bar. Properly managed, staff do not need to work more than 43 hours per week, but the life of the management couple rarely turns off.

Suitable candidates will have worked in a ski resort or have managed a similar hotel for at least 12 months. They will speak French, be resilient, tough, hard working and be leaders by example. They will have good social skills and a desire to please.
The ideal couple would be a chef and a front of house manager. They will live in the hotel and be at home in the all-consuming environment. Work on a yacht would have been good training. If there is not a chef in the couple, it is a pre-requisite that at least one is trained in basic kitchen hygiene and is able to prepare food, in extremis, for up to 30 people.

The parent company provides comprehensive in-resort support and looks-after non-local sales, marketing, recruitment, supplier, legal and commercial issues. The managers devote their time to welcoming guests and motivating their teams. There is no fancy office or a leather armchair and cigar for the boss.
